The Details

Every Plumeria board is shaped to order — there's no warehouse of finished boards waiting to ship. That means a little more lead time than a shop board, but it also means the board is built for you. This page walks through exactly what to expect, so there are no surprises between your deposit and your first paddle-out.

There are two ways to start:

Path 1: Start with a Shaping Consultation

Shaper inspecting a board's rail

If you're not sure exactly what you want yet — or you just want to talk it through with a shaper first — this is the path for you.

We hop on a call, usually 20-30 minutes, and go through everything that matters: your height, weight, and experience level, the waves you'll actually be riding it in, your current quiver and what's missing from it, and any preferences on outline, rocker, or volume. By the end of the call, we've landed on a model and the full spec for your board.

Once we've nailed down everything you're ordering, I'll send you an invoice for the whole board. Your $500 deposit locks your spot in the queue, and I get to work.

Path 2: Order Directly

Already know what you want? You can order straight from the model pages on the site.

Baseline prices are listed on each model's order page. Art and add-ons (see below) are priced separately and added on top. Submit your spec right from the order page — no need to wait for a call first.

Within a day or two of your order, I'll call you to finalize the exact specs (dimensions, fin setup, etc.), talk through any art or add-ons you want, and arrange your $500 deposit, which locks your place in the queue. After that call, I'll send you an invoice for the total cost of the board, reflecting everything we finalized.

Timeline

Most PU boards are ready in 4-6 weeks from the day your deposit is placed. EPS boards run a little longer, typically 5-6 weeks. Both are estimates based on the current queue — they can run a bit longer during busy stretches, and I'll give you a straight answer on where you fall in the queue during our call.

Communication Along the Way

Transparency is a big part of how I work, so you're not left wondering what's happening with your board once it's in the queue. You'll get a text or email at each of these steps:

  • When I order your foam blank
  • When I start shaping
  • Photos once I'm done shaping
  • When I start your custom art
  • When glassing begins
  • When your board is completely finished

As soon as it's done, you'll get an email, text, or call — whichever reaches you fastest — and you're welcome to come by for pickup any time after that.

Construction: PU vs. EPS

PU (polyurethane blank, polyester resin) is the baseline on every model.

If you'd rather go with an EPS blank, that's available as an option: it runs $100 more than the standard price for the model, and takes a bit longer to build — EPS/epoxy construction has a few extra steps in the process which usually adds a weak to typical lead time.

What's Included, What's an Add-On

The baseline price on each model page includes a standard glass job, standard fin setup, and a single stringer. The following are priced separately and added to your total, with pricing listed on each model's order page:

  • Resin tint
  • Custom airbrush art
  • Additional fin setup options
  • Extra stringers

We'll go through whichever of these you're interested in on our call, and confirm exactly what's being added before any work starts.

Deposit & Refund Policy

Your $500 deposit locks your place in the build queue. Here's exactly how it works if plans change:

  • Before I've ordered your foam blank: full refund, no questions asked.
  • After I've ordered your blank, but before I've started shaping: $250 refund.
  • Once I've started shaping your board: deposit is non-refundable — at that point, materials and time are already committed to your specific board.

The same cutoffs apply if you want to change your order (switch models, adjust dimensions, change art) rather than cancel it — changes are easy and free before the blank is ordered, more limited once it's ordered, and locked in once shaping begins.

Rush Orders

Need your board sooner than the standard timeline? Rush orders may be available for an additional fee, depending on current availability in the queue. Ask when we talk and I'll let you know if it's doable.

Pickup

Boards are available for local pickup only. Location and timing are worked out one-on-one — once your board's ready, I'll reach out and we'll figure out a pickup that works for your schedule.

Payment

We accept cash, Venmo, or Zelle. Your $500 deposit is paid up front to lock your spot in the queue; the remaining balance is due at pickup.
